A first among Yala hotels. THE RAIN TREE HOTEL is located in Tissamaharama, in close proximity to Yala Nature Reserve. The hotel consists of 20 Superior Deluxe rooms with modern amenities. The elegant restaurant and bar offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscaped garden. Secluded amongst the landscaped garden, the pool is a vantage point to enjoy spectacular sunset views. Beautifully located at the old "Tissa Wewa" overlooking the lake. We have our own BIO farm and a view point at the top of the hotel with a 360° uninterrupted view of all the lakes, mountains and rice fields. From the vantage point, guests can enjoy a beautiful sunrise and sunset. In the evening there are thousands of birds of different species and fruit bats. Located on the shores of Lake Tissa, The Rain Tree Hotel enjoys a unique location with over 50 species of both native and migratory birds. They swarm over a magnificent cluster of massive lakeside rain trees right in front of the hotel. The name of the hotel is influenced by these trees. The guests can enjoy a beautiful 360 degree panoramic view of the lake, ancient temples and nearby mountain ranges from a vantage point on the top of the hotel, which is 20 meters above the ground. At sunset, guests can enjoy a drink (Sundowner) as thousands of flying foxes (fruit bats) leave the rain trees and fly past the hotel. At Kirinda sea beach you can swim in the Indian Ocean. Our hotel is an eco-friendly hotel. We use clean energy through solar energy and have an organic farm where we grow our rice, vegetables and fruits. Asian culture, history, archeology and religion are featured in the temples in Tissa, Kirinda and the holy city of Kataragama, which are visited by Buddhists, Hindus and Catholics from all over the world
